Our History
God spoke to Abram in Genesis 12 and commanded him to “go from your land…” and thus started what we know today as the missions movement. All through the Bible we can see God’s heart for all nations. Even in the Great Commission of Matthew 28, probably the most well known passage on missions, Jesus tells us to “make disciples of all nations…” It is so important to God, that it was the final thing that Jesus reminded His disciples to do before He left this earth.
Gen12 Ministries was launched in 2018 with a dream to see the church body activated into their calling to reach the nations. After several years as a pastor in a Colorado church and visiting multiple missionaries all over the world, our founder, Bruce, saw the need for the culture surrounding missions to be changed among believers. He knew that we must do more to reach the unreached people of this earth, and that it began with helping the American church to understand the importance of the calling God has given every one of us. That is how Teaching, Training, Trips became an important part of Gen12. Bruce wanted to create a ministry that would teach and train pastors, business owners, and others on how to accomplish the great commission within our lifetime. And show them how to run strategic trips to specific areas of the world that need the gospel the most.
After visiting many countries and seeing so many people and pastors with no Bible in their own languages, Bruce wanted to do more. Knowing that 95% of the world’s pastors have had no formal training gave him a desire to see pastors and missionaries in other countries receive training and resources for whatever God has called them to do. Gen12 has a desire to start training centers in some of the hardest to reach and dangerous countries of the world, by using local church pastors, CEOs, and other business owners to do it. We want to invite you to join us in changing the culture of missions. Find your place in God’s calling to reach the world.
